Looking for a delicious way to cool down? Say hello to this Strawberry Hibiscus Iced Tea—a fusion of fruity flavors and floral undertones. Crafted with fresh strawberries and the exotic allure of hibiscus, this easy homemade brew is a must-try for iced tea lovers. It's naturally caffeine free and contains no added sugar.
3 Ways To Make Strawberry Hibiscus Iced Tea
I've tried 3 different methods of making this iced tea and they all work beautifully. For all of these methods, I use Traditional Medicinals hibiscus tea bags.
- Sun Tea Method- This is certainly the easiest way to make a delicious iced tea. Place 2 tea bags in a pitcher and leave it on the counter near a window in the sun or outside covered on a patio or deck. The warmth from the sun will slowly release the flavors from the tea bag and within a few hours you'll have a delicious tea ready to pour over ice.
- Boil and Steep- Boil water as you normally would for hot tea and steep for at least 5 minutes. You want a nice concentrated tea because you'll be adding ice and this will dilute the flavor slightly. Allow the tea to cool completely before adding to ice.
- Refrigerate Overnight- Place 2 tea bags in a pitcher and leave overnight in the refrigerator. By the morning the tea will have infused the water AND it will be cold enough to drink right away. This is probably my favorite method (when I remember to do it)!
Muddled Strawberries
Once you've decided which method to use, the only thing left to do is muddle the strawberries! This releases the aroma and the juice allowing it to infuse rapidly into the hibiscus tea!
Health Benefits of Hibiscus
If beauty alone isn't enough to entice you to make this iced tea, consider the amazing health benefits that drinking hibiscus tea may offer!
- Some studies suggest hibiscus tea may help lower blood pressure.
- Hibiscus consumption may help lower LDL-cholesterol and decrease inflammation in the body.
- If you can't tell from the color, hibiscus is loaded with antioxidants which help with support immunity and protect the body against cancer.
Other Reasons To Love This Iced Tea
- Caffeine free! So no jittery side effects!
- No added sugar! This tea is naturally sweet from ripe strawberries. Feel free to add your favorite sweetener if your strawberries are not sweet enough.
